Fundamental rights for all citizens of Kosovo are de jure guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, in line with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. However, there is a considerable gap between the legislation and de factoaccess to and the protection of fundamental rights. Vulnerable and marginalized groups, including minority communities, women, youth and members of the LGBT community in particular face challenges when exercising their fundamental rights. This handbook provides information on relevant legislature and institutions that can help citizens to protect and promote their Rights.
